The 2014 Honda Accord has been wildly popular ever since it hit the showroom floors of Detroit Area Honda Dealers. The winning combination of refined design elements with superbly efficient performance and responsive handling certainly are major factors in making this midsize sedan one of the top vehicles in its class.
But we think that the interior features are really something special, and are worth comparing to one of the Accord’s chief competitors, the 2014 Nissan Altima.
Take a Closer Look
Both sedans are sleek and attractive vehicles in their own right, but when you get down to comparing the interior features side by side, we think you’ll see why we prefer the Accord.
Premium materials and a modern design that emphasizes comfort and convenience give the 2014 Accord a definite upscale feel. The roomy interior is quite elegant and finely crafted, more like an entry-level luxury sedan than your typical affordable family 4-door. The rear seating is considered by many to be the best in its class for roominess and comfort.
The Altima also displays tight construction, highlighted by Nissan’s “zero gravity” front seats, although the rear seats provide less legroom than you will get in the Accord.
The main instrument cluster of the Honda is neatly arranged and features an 8-inch display that interfaces with various audio, infotainment, and navigation systems according to the trim level you choose.
The Nissan features a dashboard array as well, but it comes in either a 5-inch display on the lower trims, or a 7-inch display on the upper trims.
Comfort and convenience features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, illuminated vanity mirror, and a rearview camera, standard across trim levels with the Accord, are only available on the upper trims of the Altima.
So you see, when it comes to convenience and comfort the 2014 Accord just has more to offer Detroit area drivers than the 2014 Nissan Altima.
