Though no official 2021 Honda Accord release date has been released, industry experts are expecting to see it start hitting showrooms around December 2020. It’s highly unlikely to bring as many changes as the 2020 model, but we have heard a few 2021 Honda Accord rumors about what to expect from this eagerly-awaited midsize sedan.
2021 Honda Accord Price
The 2020 Honda Accord current starts at $23,870 MSRP* for the entry-level LX trim level, and Honda are only expected to give the vehicle a minor set of price bumps. We expect roughly:
- $24,000 for the base trim
- $38,000 for a top of the line model.
It’s also worth considering the Honda Accord’s legendarily low running costs. The 2020 Honda Accord recorded an annual maintenance cost of $400, which is considerably lower than the segment average of $496. We don’t expect that position to change for the 2021 Honda Accord.
2021 Honda Accord Performance
The Honda Accord has developed into a sedan able to deliver anything from a high-performance ride to outstanding mpg ratings as standard, and we expect these current engines to carry over to the 2021 model:
- 1.5-Liter VTEC® Turbocharged 4-Cylinder: Makes up to 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque.
- 2.0-Liter VTEC® Turbocharged 4-Cylinder: Makes up to 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
The only confirmed change is the loss of the 6-speed manual as an available transmission option.
2021 Honda Accord Design
The latest Honda Accord generation took several bold leaps forward when it came to styling, and the 2021 is expected to continue that tradition with
- Waterfall All-LED Headlamps
- Gently Inclining C-Pillars
- Sportback-Esque Profile
We’ve not yet had a look at the interior, but we expect the Accord will continue offering full-size dimensions on a mid-size platform.
