Safety in the Insight starts with Honda’s innovative Advanced Compatibility Engineering Body Structure. The design utilizes a complex network of frame structures to absorb crash energy and distribute it away from occupants. In the event of an accident, it also minimizes the amount of force transferred to the other vehicle involved, keeping everyone on the road safer.
The EX and Touring models come equipped with Honda LaneWatch. A small camera is mounted on the passenger’s side mirror and displays the activity going on in the driver’s blind spot when a right lane change is signaled. The video displays on the 8-inch audio touchscreen inside the cabin and allows drivers to see up to four times more than using mirrors alone.
The Insight boasts an extensive list of passive safety features—including seatbelts, airbags, and locks. These features may go on unnoticed at first, but they’re there for you when you need them most.
Every model of the Insight comes equipped with a multi-angle rearview camera that allows drivers to check their surroundings before reversing. And with guidelines as a standard feature, and dynamic guidelines as an upgrade on the EX and Touring models, drivers can maneuver in and out of tight spaces with ease. The camera has three different angles to choose from, each offering an optimal view for different driving situations:
As drivers explore the upper trim levels, they’ll find even more safety features to note. The SMS text message function, for example, allows drivers to send and receive text messages safely when behind the wheel. And a navigation system features voice recognition so drivers can input instructions without taking their hands off the wheel or their eyes off the road.
