The 2015 Honda Accord is here now in our showrooms at Detroit Area Honda Dealers, and it’s coming in right on the tail of all-time record sales for the Accord, leading Honda to a near record set of sales for August. Honda had August sales of 51,075 units sold, up 32.5% over the previous year, with American Honda sales climbing to 1,042,382 for the year.
As if that weren’t enough, this pushes Honda into a month of 150,000 units sold in a single month, a feat that’s only happened three times in the automaker’s history.
In response to the good news, Jeff Conrad, Honda Division senior vice president and general manager, said “The fundamental strengths of the Honda brand are on full display as the Accord strengthened its position as the best-selling car uniquely driven by retail sales to individual buyers.”
“Our other core models, Civic, CR-V and Odyssey are also performing well and continue to drive our retail sales leadership in 2014. And the early market response to the redesigned 2015 Fit is a strong indicator of great things to come as supplies improve,” added Conrad.
What Drives the Accord’s Success
The Accord gets updated every year to make sure it’s right for the current auto market, but despite the constant updating, Honda has stuck to some key traits over the decades of the Accord’s existence, including:
Some may think that “value” and “affordability” are the same thing, but while any automaker can give you a car that can be fit into your budget, getting one that gives you true value can be tough. Honda has equipped the Accord with some of the best in standard features, including Bluetooth, a rearview camera system, steering wheel-mounted controls, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more.
