Honda has recently announced the beloved Honda Civic Hatchback will be back for 2022 with an upgraded look, a larger interior, and more cargo room. It’s the perfect option for those who love the sportiness of the Honda Civic but need additional cargo room or passenger space. The all-new 2022 Civic was rated best in class for driving experience by Car and Driver. It also offers more performance options than the standard Honda Civic, such as two engine options, a 2.0-liter inline-four, and turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four. Also, a six-speed manual transmission option will be available on the Sport and Sport Touring trim levels, while a CVT automatic is standard making it even more fun to drive.

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Exterior & Interior Details

The new Honda Civic Hatchback gets an upgraded exterior design for the 2022 model year that’s euro-inspired, sporty, and has a coupe-like profile. The tailgate has now been re-designed

to feature a wider lower opening that makes it easier to load everyday cargo. Brand-new colors include Boost Blue and Smokey Mauve Pearl for this new Honda car. The rear se ats provide more legroom and headroom with a 60/40 seatback to expand your cargo room even more. This new Honda has also gotten a few upgrades that make it safer than previous models. The body structure has received improvements in stiffness and crashworthiness. In addition, the suspension now has better handling, and the front airbags have been redesigned to minimize the risk for traumatic brain and neck injuries.

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback Trims and Features

The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback will come in four trims, the LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring. Some standard technology and safety features include:

  • Wireless Apple and Android CarPlay®* Integration for iPhone®
  • Honda Sensing® Safety Features that now includes Traffic Jam Assist

The LX and Sport trims come with the 2.0-liter inline-four engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. The EX-L and Sport Touring trims come with the turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four engine that produces 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Sport and Sport Touring trims come with a few additional performance features, such as a sport-tuned suspension and larger brakes. The Sport Touring trim also comes with a rear spoiler and center-mounted dual exhaust system.
