Roominess is one quality that attracts consumers increasingly to the SUV market, and the Pilot defeats various leading competitors when it comes to onboard space.

Inside the exceptionally roomy Pilot, consumers will find impressive seating capacity for a maximum of eight passengers. This exceeds three of the Pilot’s leading competitors. The Pilot also offers up to 153.1 cubic feet of passenger space for occupants to spread out in. By comparison, the Explorer and the Grand Cherokee offer just 151.6 cubic feet and 105.4 cubic feet of passenger volume, respectively.

When it comes to headroom up front, the Pilot beats out the Grand Cherokee, offering up to 40.1 inches of front headroom compared to just 39.9 inches in the Grand Cherokee.

In the second row, the Pilot offers superior headroom over both the Pathfinder and the Grand Cherokee, providing 40.2 inches of second-row headroom compared to just 39.4 inches in the Pathfinder and 39.2 inches in the Grand Cherokee.

As for third-row headroom, the Pilot outdoes both the Pathfinder and the Ford Explorer, offering 38.9 inches, while both the Pathfinder and the Explorer provide just 37.8 inches.

The Pilot further exceeds the Grand Cherokee in terms of front legroom, offering 40.9 inches to the Grand Cherokee’s 40.3 inches, and the Pilot defeats the Pathfinder in terms of rear legroom, providing 31.9 inches to the Pathfinder’s 30.7 inches.

Cargo Conqueror

The Pilot surpasses all three competitors when it comes to cargo capacity, offering up to 109.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded.

By contrast, the Grand Cherokee provides only 68.3 cubic feet of cargo space with its rear seats folded, the Pathfinder features only 79.8 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seats folded, and the Explorer offers just 81.7 total cubic feet of cargo room.
For convenient access to the impressive cargo space onboard the Pilot, drivers can utilize a 60/40-split, flat-folding third-row bench seat and an available One-Touch 2nd-Row Seat. In addition to providing easy access, these innovative seating features also enable versatility for seating needs versus cargo needs, allowing drivers to adjust seating as needed to make room for cargo.
